My goodness, I’m in lust over a camera. I know, that is incredibly geeky of my. Eh, whatever. This thing is worth it. Out with my dad today, I got to try out his Nikon D70 digital camera. Yowza!
Since the age of 10 when I got my first Nikon EM, I’ve really enjoyed taking pictures. For me, great photography is better than paintings or sculpture. I could look at it for hours.
Over the past few years, I’ve been hesitant to pull out the old Nikon simply because digitals are so much easier. I have an older Nikon Coolpix that I really like for point-and-shoot, but it is limited in its scope.
When I picked up that D70, oh, man. This thing doesn’t feel at all like a digital. It is sturdy and shoots BEAUTIFUL digital images. I’m sure my dad’s kick ass lens didn’t hurt, but, it was a freakin’ joy. It even makes the shutter sound when you click it – a very nice touch.
I’m so tempted to sell body parts to science to get one. Ever since the D1 came out, I’ve wanted a high end digital and the D70 is ideal for me because it isn’t a $2000+ model but has many of the features I’d want from a very nice digital camera.
Must resist urge to sell plasma for cash…
