Vacation Just About Finalized

I’m heading out on the long and winding road(trip) here shortly and I’ve just about mapped out my trip. I’ll be leaving here very early the first day and I intend to go as far as I can on day one. The goal is to get to Tucson, Arizona in the first day – probably about 15 hours across the west Texas desert. If I just can’t take it, I can always pull over in El Paso.

I realized that there are three places that are key for me on this trip. The first is Yosemite National Park. Once I decided that was going to be on the first leg of the trip, getting there quickly became a priority, so I changed my driving plans to make efficient use of my first two days.

After Yosemite is San Francisco with my friend Ange and her husband. Then, on my way back, one night in Las Vegas to shoot some pictures of all the crazy neon at night an maybe drop a quarter in a slot machine. 🙂

So far, this is what it looks like:

Day 1 – Drive from Houston to Tucson, Arizona (5am – 7pm)
Day 2 – Drive from Tuscon to Yosemite Village, California (8am – 7pm)
Day 3 – All day at Yosemite National Park
Day 4 – Most of the day at Yosemite. Leave PM for San Francisco (4pm – 8pm)
Day 5-8 – San Francisco
Day 9 – Drive from San Francisco to Las Vegas (6am – 5pm)
Day 10 – Drive from Las Vegas to Ft. Stockton, Texas (8am – 7pm)
Day 11 – Drive from El Paso to Houston (8am – 7pm)

Lots of driving, but I think it will be a ton of fun. I plan to take more pictures than probably is allowable by law and I will have my laptop, so you can expect regular photo and blog updates from the road.

Woot!
