Pedophile, Get Off of My Radio

This could easily be the title of my song in response to “Young Girl” by Gary Puckett and the Union Gap. I mean, who are they kidding with these lyrics and how do they still get airplay on oldies stations?

Young girl, get out of my mind
My love for you is way out of line
Better run, girl,
You’re much too young, girl
With all the charms of a woman
You’ve kept the secret of your youth
You led me to believe
You’re old enough
To give me Love
And now it hurts to know the truth, Oh,
Beneath your perfume and make-up
You’re just a baby in disguise
And though you know
That it is wrong to be
Alone with me
That come on look is in your eyes, Oh,
So hurry home to your mama
I’m sure she wonders where you are
Get out of here
Before I have the time
To change my mind
‘Cause I’m afraid we’ll go too far, Oh,
Young girl

That damn SHE DEVIL! She’s charmed poor Gary Puckett with her Lolita-like charms. Whatever is a poor, helpless rock star to do? Of course, “rock star” is really stretching it with Puckett.

Good Lord! I’m sitting at Sweet Tomato trying to enjoy my salad for lunch and I get “YOUNG GIRL…” from above my head. It’s bad enough that the song is horrible, but those lyrics. C’mon, Puckett, put it back in your pants. Did you know the guy is still performing…and probably still playing that song. Oy. Here’s a photo for your viewing pleasure.
