When the weather is this good in Houston in April, you definitely have to take advantage.
orange is in did a show at Rudyard’s on Friday night. We played great but we started late so there just weren’t many people there. I have to remember for gigs like that to show up MUCH later than I did or go home in between. Sitting around at the club all night isn’t super fun despite the fact that both Christopher Wilson and Arthur Yoria were very good.
After the gig, you could feel the cold front had come through. It made loading out a little more bearable than usual.
I woke up fairly early Saturday considering I didn’t go to bed until after 3am. I went to Cricket’s Creamery on 19th for lunch. If you haven’t been there, try it out. They have great soups, sandwiches, pastries and ice cream. I assume they have good coffee, but I don’t drink coffee.
While I was down there eating my egg sandwich, I noticed a bunch of streets being blocked off an bike riders all over the place. Apparently, there was a bike race going on over on Heights Boulevard. Since I carry my camera virtually everywhere, I took some pics as I mentioned in my previous entry.
I fell asleep in the afternoon and napped for a couple hours. Man, is that a good feeling?
My friend, Christina, and I went to see Benchwarmers that night. That is a hilarious movie if you like people being hit with things and falling down and lord knows I do.
I sat around for way too long Sunday morning being lazy. In the afternoon, I went downtown to take advantage of the gorgeous weather and get some pictures. I got some down by Minute Maid Park, where the Astros were beating the Nationals. I added a few of the better one’s to my Flickr.com Account last night.
I made myself some dinner and then had a chat with my good friend, Stacey Steger. Chris and I are going to be producing 3 or 4 songs for here over the next couple of months. I played on her first CD and Chris produced it, but we expect to take quite a bit more time on this one. Should be fun.
Hope everyone had a great weekend and didn’t waste this beautiful weather.
