The Chronicle columnist David Baron writes a Four VCR’s, No Waiting portion of his sports media column, so this seemed appropriate.
One of the blogs I read regularly is Cybertoad’s and she posted her Tivo Season Pass today documenting the shows she and her husband record all season long.
Sounded like a good idea to me, so here goes:
The Daily Show
Even though I can see the clips online, this is worth having every night.
The Colbert Report
See “The Daily Show”
Vanished
This has turned into one of my favorites.
Heroes
If the show is even remotely close to as good as the premier last week, this is going to be a classic.
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip
The writing and acting is brilliant. Sorkin has another Emmy hog on his hands.
NCIS
I don’t know why I like this quirky CSI wannabe, but I do. Maybe it’s the funky, slurpee drinking goth girl lab rat. Maybe I just think Mark Harmon is dreamy. Ok, maybe not.
Queer Eye for the Straight Guy
My favorite all time DIY show without question.
CSI: NY
Not as good as the original but better than that David Caruso-infected abomination Monday’s. Plus, Gary Sinese is incredible.
Ugly Betty
After watching the premier last night, this is instantly one of my new favorites.
The Office
The best comedy on television without question and by a wide margin.
CSI
The original is still one of the best shows on TV.
Shark
James Woods is great in this show. For a legal drama, it’s worth watching.

There are a few others that get the occassional record – What Not to Wear, Take Home Chef (why does he always seem to pick really attractive women? hmmm…), Numbers, Houston Texans Inside the Game.
I’m seriously thinking I may need another DVR box for Rockets season. When two shows are being recorded at once, you can ONLY watch those shows. What to do, what to do…don’t say “watch less television either,” smart ass.
