First, this isn’t about my current band, orange is in. We’re good. This is about a band I used to play in, Under the Sun. Recently, I got a call from the guitarist, Larry Cooper, about doing a reunion show tonight at the Continental Club. I wondered what would happen if a band did a reunion show and nobody came. We weren’t exactly the most popular band ever and while a reunion show seemed a little odd, I figured it would be nice to see some old friends.
Well, like many things UTS attempted, this too fell short of expectation. Due to an illness, there will be no reunion show tonight and Larry told me this is his last shot at putting something like this together. So, to mangle a great poem…
This is the way the band ends
This is the way the band ends
This is the way the band ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.
Aloha, Mr. Hand.
